Convert files without uploading them
PDFs, video, audio and images all convert inside your own browser. Scanned PDFs are read by AI on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, there is no queue, and there is no limit.
Nothing uploaded
Conversion runs in a background thread on your machine. Open the network panel and check for yourself.
No conversion limits
In-browser conversions cost us nothing to run, so we do not meter them. No hourly cap, no file count.
No upload wait
A short clip finishes in seconds because the bytes never travel anywhere.

AI text recognition, on your deviceMerge, split, rotate and renumber pages, or convert PDFs to images, text and Word. Scanned pages are read by an AI recognition model running on your own device — no upload, no paywall. Page editing never re-compresses anything, so the pages come out exactly as sharp as they went in.
- Combine several PDFs into one, in the order you choose.
Merge PDF
- Break a document into several PDFs — one file per page, one every few pages, or by the ranges you type.
Split PDF
- Shrink the file size by re-encoding the images inside the PDF.
Compress PDF
- Recognise the text on a scanned PDF and add an invisible layer so the file becomes searchable.AI text recognition, on your device
OCR PDF
- Make the values in a filled PDF form permanent, so they cannot be edited and every reader draws them the same way.
Flatten PDF
- Turn sideways or upside-down pages the right way up and save the result.
Rotate PDF
- Trim the margins off a PDF and save the result.
Crop PDF
- Delete the pages you do not want and download what is left.
Remove PDF pages
- Pull the pages you need into a new PDF and leave the rest behind.
Extract PDF pages
- Move pages into the order you want and save the result.
Reorder PDF pages
- Draw or type your signature, put it where it belongs on the page, and download the signed PDF.
Sign PDF
- Stamp text across the pages of a PDF — diagonal, straight or tiled, at the opacity you choose.
Watermark PDF
- Put page numbers on a PDF — any corner, any starting number, on the pages you choose.
Add page numbers to PDF
- Build a PDF outline from the contents page, or from the headings when there is none.

Give a video file a new container, pull its soundtrack out, or turn a clip into an animated GIF — all decoded and re-encoded by your own browser. Container changes between MP4, MOV, MKV and M4V copy the compressed streams across untouched, so they finish almost instantly and cost nothing in quality.

Move audio between MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG and Opus. The one distinction worth watching is whether the target stores audio losslessly: WAV and FLAC do, so converting into them never adds damage, while every lossy target re-compresses audio that was usually already compressed once.

Convert between PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG using the codecs already built into your browser — no WebAssembly download, so these finish in well under a second. Converting into JPG or BMP flattens transparency onto white, because neither format has an alpha channel to put it in.

Frequently asked questions
Is Convertube really free?
Yes. Every converter and PDF tool is free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit. The work happens on your own device, so there is no server cost per file to pass on; the site is paid for by the ads on its pages.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files are converted inside your browser by code the page downloads, and the result is saved straight back to your device. You can check it yourself: open your browser’s network panel while converting, and no request carries your file.
Which formats can I convert?
Video (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and more), audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG), images (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, SVG) and documents: PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, PNG and text, and images or text to PDF. PDF tools merge, split, compress, rotate and sign pages.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in any modern browser on Android or iPhone as well as on Windows, macOS and Linux. Phones have less memory, so the largest files are capped lower there, and each page states the limit for your device.
How is it different from other online converters?
Most online converters upload your file, convert it on their server and make you download the result, often with a queue or a size cap. Here your file never leaves your device: there is no upload to wait for, no copy of your file on anyone else’s computer, and scanned PDFs are read by an AI model running locally.
